Each child will participate in 2 of the following classes. You must choose 3. We will place your child in 2 of their 3 choices. If that's not possible, we will consult their parent.
Worship Band & Vocal Ensemble: Learn to work well in a worship setting. working with song structure, rhythm, song transitions, and musical dynamics. Vocalists will learn basic microphone and vocal techniques. (Class size limited)
Photography (digital camera required): Learn simple tips for taking better pictures. This year's photography class will travel off-site for their block time. A collage of their pictures will be presented on Friday evening.
Dance (HipHop): We will focus on new moves and how to express to the audience the personality and style of Hip Hop that makes it unique. Students learn the choreographed dances and perform them for the parent in our Friday evening recital.
Tech (ages 10-13): Basics of sound ministry; system set-up, mic-ing techniques, sound board , sound and video recording, media presentation. Interactive and hands-on. (class size limited)
Drama: Learn to be a REAL character and look great in front of an audience.
Stomp: If you grew up banging on pots and pans, or just love making noise with rhythm and drums, this MAC class may be for you. Students will learn a rhythmic piece that combines percussion, household instrumentation, and a touch of drama.
Painting: Explore different painting techniques to create your own masterpiece.
Culinary Arts: Enjoy preparing foods while learning how to use hospitality, food presentation, and good nutrition to serve Christ, the church, and the world around us. (class size limited.)
Needle Felting: Needle felting is a fun way to make 2-D & 3-D art . It’s like painting, but with fibers. We will be using wool roving, felt, and a sharp barbed needle that causes the fibers to bind together. Bring in a picture of a landscape, a pet, or favorite animal. Other visuals will be provided.
Puppetry: Learn the art of communicating effectively through puppets. Prepare to wow the audience on Friday night with an exciting puppetry performance.
